The BioTel EMS system supplies prehospital emergency medical services for over 200,000 people every year in the Dallas metro area.

Medical direction for the system is provided through the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center under the leadership of Dr. Paul Pepe. Dr. Pepe is one of the recognized world experts in resuscitation and emergency medicine research and in the medical direction of EMS.
